Build
A Mass Timber industry in Argentina, with its own forest behind, science ahead and the conviction that it is possible to build differently without asking nostalgia for permission.
It was born out of discomfort.
The discomfort of watching how things get built (late, dirty, imprecise, always different from what was promised) and being unable to accept that this was the only way possible. Cambium.build starts there: in the unease of knowing a better way exists and that nobody was doing it here.
The name is not accidental. The cambium is a layer of living cells a few microns thick that runs just beneath the bark: there, and only there, the tree generates new wood every season. The entire volume of a trunk comes from that thin sheet. We took that name because it describes exactly what we want to be within construction: the thin, active layer where growth is generated, the place where the forest becomes a building.
We are a forestry, industrial and construction company. But before that we are a tech company: the system is software, model and numerical control before it is a panel. Timber is the material; industrialisation is the method.
We believe construction has to become industrial and transparent: verifiable processes, open data, schedules that are met because they are calculated. We love timber and sustainability, not as rhetoric but as an engineering decision. We like the challenges others discard as too difficult.
And we believe something more, which sounds big when said out loud: from Argentina it is possible to change the way the world builds. Today it is an opportunity; tomorrow it will be obvious.
Beauty
Exposed timber is not an aesthetic decision added at the end: it is the consequence of a well-made piece. A system that needs to be covered up is poorly resolved.
Science
Nothing is claimed without a test, a standard or a model behind it. When the data is not there, we say so: it is more useful than an adjective. Engineering is not a formality before construction; it is where the result is defined.
Future
Building with a material that grows, in an industry that creates local jobs, with buildings that store carbon for as long as they stand.
The timber took years to grow.
A project, weeks to go up.
Our raw material comes from plantation forest with batch traceability. Industry residue returns as energy. The carbon the tree captured stays in the structure for as long as the building stands.
We publish the calculation method alongside every figure. If something is not measured, we do not claim it: we prefer the incomplete, honest figure to the round promise.
Plantation forest
Raw material from planted, traceable forestry, not native forest.
Residue to energy
Industry offcuts feed biomass generation.
Stored carbon
Measured per project, with method and scope declared.
Industrialisation
Less waste, less water, fewer trucks and less noise in the neighbourhood.
Cambium.build was born within Grupo Insud.
A group present in more than 50 countries with an industrial and scientific track record, contributing what a project of this scale needs: long-term investment capacity, an R&D culture and access to the complete forestry chain.
We share the same DNA: innovation, sustainability and development.
We did not start by buying timber on the market: we started from the forest.
Pomera Maderas
Forestry and primary processing. The origin of the raw material and the traceability of every batch.
Biomass plants
Energy generation from the forestry and industrial residue of the production system itself.
Puerto Valle
Conservation and tourism in the Iberá wetlands: the counterpart to productive use, in the same region.
Cambium.earth
Sister company dedicated to carbon credits: it measures, certifies and monetises the impact the system generates.
We build the team with the same criteria we use to build the system.
We look for people who want to build an industry, not fill a position. Almost nobody here has done this before in Argentina: you learn by doing.
Precision
Measure before giving an opinion. Errors are documented and corrected, not hidden.
Craft
Plant, site and technical office at the same table. Nobody decides without having seen the piece.
Autonomy
Small teams with real decision-making power. Fewer approvals, more responsibility.
Training
Continuous technical training, exchange with the industry and access to the system's engineering.
